MID Player of the Week Goes to Baker of South Bend
Monday, June 13th, 2011: There was no one hotter in the Midwest League last week as Garrett Baker attacked enemy pitching with a vengeance to collect the Player of the Week Award.

The 27-year-old South Bend right fielder batted .450 with 9 hits in 20 at-bats, 2 home runs and 8 RBIs.

To date this year Baker is batting .277 with 5 home runs.
Dragons Ondrusek Tames Great Lakes
Wednesday, June 8th, 2011: Logan Ondrusek spun his magic in a 7-0 shutout victory, allowing 2 hits while totaling 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

The Dayton pitcher put quite a spell on Great Lakes in a strong performance.

"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Ondrusek said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."

Looking at his season stats, Ondrusek has won 4 and lost 2, collecting 61 strikeouts and 33 walks in 75.1 innings with a 2.87 ERA.
Chiefs Lose Casey Coleman
Tuesday, June 7th, 2011: Peoria learned today that they will be without starting pitcher Casey Coleman for 9-10 months. Coleman was injured throwing a pitch and sustained a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. He was hurt in the game against the Burlington Bees.

This year Coleman has compiled a 2-5 mark with a 4.19 ERA.
